Bitnod
Coming soon to iPhone and Android

Find out who nearby is open to meeting you, too.

Walking up to a stranger is hard, and you never know if they'd welcome it. Bitnod shows you who around you, right now, is open to meeting, and lets you say hi privately first. It works over Bluetooth, phone to phone. No location, no profiles, and nobody ever sees a no.

How it works

  1. 1
Turn it on where you are

At a venue, an event, a gym or a café, switch Bitnod on. You get a random two-word name, like lemon-ginger, that changes every session. No photo, no profile, no sign-up form.

  2. 2
    See who's open to meeting

Other people nearby with Bitnod on show up by their session names, with a rough sense of near or far. Prefer to stay unseen? Discreet mode lets you only listen.

  3. 3
Say hi before you walk over

Send a private message. It goes phone to phone over Bluetooth, end-to-end encrypted. If they don't answer, they're never told you saw it, and nobody sees a no.

What it looks like

Real screens from the beta, on an iPhone and an Android phone talking to each other.

Safety comes first

Meeting someone new should feel safe. Bitnod gives you control at every step, without asking you to give up who you are.

Report anything

Long-press any message, or open a chat's menu, to report it. A person, not an algorithm, reviews every report within 24 hours, and the person you report is never told who sent it.

Block in one tap

Blocking hides someone and refuses them for 90 days. Ending a chat stops them from reaching you again for the rest of that session.

Adults only

Bitnod is for people 18 and over, and everyone agrees to zero-tolerance rules before using it. Threats and anything involving a child go to the authorities.

Discreet when you want

Discreet mode means your phone only listens: nobody nearby sees you until you choose to message them. On Android it also blocks screenshots.

No location, no map

The app never asks for your location. It shows near or far, never a distance, a direction or a map.

Meet on your terms

You decide who to talk to and when to walk over. Meet in a public place, and if you ever feel unsafe, call your local emergency number first.

How reporting and blocking work

Private by design

These rules shape every part of the app. They are written into the code, not just this page.

A new name every session

Your name is two random words that change every time. Nobody can follow you from one visit to the next.

Phone to phone

Messages travel directly between phones over Bluetooth, end-to-end encrypted. They never pass through our server.

We don't know where you were

No location permission, no check-ins. Our server never learns where you used the app or whom you talked to.

Nobody sees a no

Not answering sends nothing. To the other person, it looks the same as you walking out of range.

Erase everything, instantly

Triple-tap your name and your conversations, keys and activity are wiped from the phone, with nothing sent to anyone.

No ads, no tracking

No advertising, no analytics and no third-party trackers, in the app or on this website.
